Grouse numbers in Sawyer Bayfield COunties

Has anyone been seeing birds in Sawyer or Bayfield Counties?

I was up in sawyer county last weekend. I hate to give you a bad report but I didn’t see the upswing in the cycle that I heard from elsewhere. Spots that always produced 5 years ago we didn’t see a bird but note I was hunting all public property. Went 0-for-2 in about 6 hours of fieldwork. Mainly concentrated on bowhunting cause the grouse were slowwww! Hopefully you have better luck.

Doing much better SE of Hayward all the way to Minocqua and points east. There have to be some birds there some place. Have been seeing large numbers of woodcock as well and the flight might just be starting as we might be getting some more ground freezing weather.
