    Hows fishing on Sand Lake south of Hayward? I’ve been by there a few times and was wondering if anyone on this sight has fished it.

    Rocky. Sandy. Walleye population crashed a few years ago and the DNR and the LCO are trying to rebuild it. After fishing it a couple of times, it has become a drive-by for me.

    3 years ago during an August full moon period I CPR’d 6 muskies. Fished from 2PM until 8:30 PM. Bucktails and quick strike rigs. Biggest was 47″ and the smallest 39″. My buddy also got a 49″ tiger out of there.

    Thanks for the replies. My wife and I were looking at some property on the lake, not sure if thats the lake we want to be on.
