Lac Seul – Navionics map chip?

    Heading to Lac Seul this summer…

    Sounds like Navionics is my only option as far as map chips go.

    What is the difference between the Navionics hotmaps and Navionics hotmaps premium? Specifically for Lac Seul (This is the only lake I care about on this chip), will there be any difference between the two chips, or will it be the same data, same contours, same detail, etc…?

    I believe they are the same for Lac Seul. I don’t think there is any super rez chip of that lake.

    I have the Navionics chip for Lac Seul. Its almost worthless. I think its like 10′ contours.

    I have the Navionics Chip (Canada Premium North). As earlier stated the level of detail is lacking. It will help those folks not familiar with the lake to feel more comfortable regarding the ability to travel w/o getting lost. However, it really IS NOT a very useful tool in identifying breaklines, structure, etc. There are many paper maps with the identical information for a fraction of the cost. There are no chips with 1′ or 3′ contours available for Lac Seul unfortunately.

    How about the regular hotmaps vs hotmaps premium for RED LAKE, ONTARIO????

    Level of detail/contours any different?
