Any one know the rules about trying to dive (6-8ft of water) to find a lost fishing rod? Would we need dive flags? Permits? I know nothing other than we’re going to buy goggles and go looking.

How did the rod end up in the soup?

Actually, he ended up, and the rod went with.

I should add maybe, MN, and not scuba diving, snorkeling at most

No diver down flag is required for breath-hold diving or snorkeling and certainly no permit.

Go in the morning before the wind comes up and when it has been calm during the night to maximize visibility.
