Does anyone who fishes the upper Mississippi River Ia. thru Wis. use Lake Vu HD or Lake Vu HD Ultra. If so could you post images. I am thinking about up grading my 11 year old unit.

I can take some pictures of the charts from my 73SV tonight that has the default LakeVu HD. Let me know the nearest city or someway to identify the areas you are interested in.

Only thing I hear bad is that the sidevu is not as good at spotting fish as the Humminbird or Lowrance? But can not find much about it online.
Thanks

First up is near Lansing at three different zoom levels.

May 1, 2016 at 9:15 am #1616689I’ve read where you cannot put a Garmin sv transducer on a Power Drive MinnKota. It’s too long, it won’t go between the skeg and prop. Any comments? I know this is true with Side image Lowrance transducer. So far Humminbird looks like the only option if you want Side image on the front.

If you turn that will stretch the view on one side and compact the view other side, and you won’t be able to tell what you are looking at. It is meant to be mounted in the rear on the transom or on a talon that doesn’t twist unless they changed the system since the last time I bought one. Garmin has the front looking panoptix transducer that can be mounted on the trolling motor, but the transducer alone is more than many locators.
