    Lardy,

I recently purchased with the Aqua-vu Scout and have been happy with it. I may be biased since it’s the only camera I’ve ever used. The only negative I’ve found is my fully charged battery is dead in 4-5 hours of constant use, I think other cameras may give you longer life. I’m sure there are better out there but for the $200 price tag it seems to be worth every penny. I’d check out the link below, $225 seems like a great deal for the Marcum.

The MarCum OVS – 400 has the larger battery in comparison to the AquaVu Scout so you’ll see a longer run time. For $225 you just can’t beat that price anywhere.

    Lardy,
Over the weekend I purchased the Aqua-Vu ZT. It was a toss up between the Scout and the ZT. What sold me on the ZT was the bigger 7 amp battery, it should get about 8 to 12 hours of use before going dead (per manufacture). I did use it to look for fish during the Brainerd JC ice fishing tourny and at a depth of 50-60 ft I could see plain as day. Also it comes with the SR camera instead of the IR. Friday and Saturday we did some night crappie fishing and I could see about 3 ft in 15 ft of water….so it is OK at night to search with, but not fish with…..it seemed to spook the crappies as I was outfished 3:1….maybe it was just me. The Scout does come with a 5″ screen vs the ZT’s 4″. The ZT is water proof whereas the Scout is water resistant and when I spoke with Aqua-Vu they did say they may not warranty a Scout damaged by water….depending on how it happened and would not comment further. To sum it all up, so far I have been quite happy with the ZT. Good luck with your decision. If you have some money to burn the S-series with the wind up spool and camera direction would be handy.
