Spirit Lake Bite ?

Anyone been on Spirit Lake lately?
Going there Tuesday to try for some Walleyes.
Last time I went was before the big heat spell.
Just curious if the weather put an end to the bite.

I was there during the heat spell. Fished 3 mornings early and got nothing, fished last Thursday afternoon and got 2 nice eyes. 102 degrees, sunny, and no wind and I caught these 2 fish.

Going to be staying at Marble Beach Sunday through Thursday this week, so hope to find a few as well. Last I heard was they were still getting a few in the weeds and scattered fish in the basin.

On a side note, I hear tell the gill bite is really hot on West, so we’ll be giving that a shot as well. Look for a white Lund with Yami and we’ll compare notes. Good luck!

West O is also my backup plan.
With gas prices, the fishing trips are fewer, but to make up for it, I fish all day and night when I do go!

We found fish but sorting was needed. Ended up with 4 nice keepers, and a few unmentionables. Bouncers and spinners with leeches north and east of stoney was our best area, speed seemed best at about 1.8 mph, color or snell lenth didnt seem to matter. If either of you guys find a spinner with 3 oz bouncer in a fish its mine something hit hard enough to straighten the cross lock. would like to at least know what it was.

Just an update.
I didn’t have much luck, caught a couple 12 inch’ers on the north side of stoney using a bouncer and spinner.
Also tried pulling some cranks for about an hour, no luck there.
On a side note, Spirit Lake got a good steady rain most of the afternoon.
I’m off to dry out my gear and boat.
