Indianola area flatheads?

    Heading down on Friday, was wondering where the closest river to Indianola is for flatties? Any advice?

    The Desmoines river Vike, the DesMoines river is a good sized river and just a few miles east of where your going and bigger then the Cedar River where I live. If shore fishing or from a boat look for logjams in or next to deeper water and just fish with a big bluegill, good luck and let us know how you do.

    Thanks, cousin said they’ve been fishing the “south” river. Don’t know if that holds them though…

    I know of a guy that caught a 40 pounder from the South River somewhere between DM and Indianola…from shore too. So I would definitely investigate that possibility. Good luck and like Dan said, tell us all about the HUGE Flatties you catch .

    BTW…I think Billy the Kid hung out around that area too.
