    Tourney Rules/document:

    Annual Freeze Your Butt Walleye Tournament
    2022
    Date: Saturday, March 5th 2022
    Time: 7:30 am – 3:30 pm
    Entry Fee: $100 per boat for tournament plus addl $20 big fish (optional)
    Border water: Mississippi River, Pool 4 (track to track)
    Tournament day registration / Boat check: Bluff’s Bar and Grill: 5:30 am – 645am
    Take off / Weigh in: Weigh in will start at 3pm at Mr.Sippis (Mr.Sippis is where take off begins and weigh in also is.. Boat launch can be done anywhere, Everett’s or Pierce County backchannel launch, there is a separate fee at both locations)
    We will launch in 2 flights like last year if enough boats register and we will adjust the weigh-in for the send flight of boats. (100 boat limit this year)

    Tournament results / Awards: Bluff’s Bar and Grill: 5:00 pm (Dinner at 5pm, awards start at 515pm)
    Tournament limit: 5 fish limit (walleye, sauger, saugeye), 15 inch minimum, only 2 fish over 20 inches.
    2 fishermen per boat, 2 lines per fisherman
    Late check-in penalty: 1 pound per minute (disqualification after 5 minutes)
    All federal, state and local laws must be followed. Any citations accrued during tournament hours will result in disqualification. (including “no wake” violations)
    FYI: Please make sure boat registration and fishing licenses are current, MN expires 3/1/22. Tournament is Not responsible for any tickets given by DNR, to participants day of tourney, if tourney is notified of ticket given, team will face disqualification.
    Payout estimate is contingent on boat numbers and subject to change (100 boat limit)

    Please measure all fish accurately!
    All fish suspected of a length violation will be checked. Any fish found to be in violation will be disqualified. Judges decision is final with no rights of appeal. Ruler used: “The Judge”
    It is the fisherman’s responsibility to submit accurately measured fish to be weighed.

    Registration: 530-645am
    Pull into Bluff’s Parking lot, follow signs and cones, 2 lines. Please be patient and courteous to others.
    Stay in vehicles and get clip boards, fill out form and give cash to person who gave you the clipboard.
    Please specify if you want to be in the biggest fish .
    Both anglers must be present to sign waver.
    Pay $100 plus optional $20 biggest fish per TEAM (Big fish is optional)
    Get boat number paper plate, rules, and tape for trolling motor (tape identifies those in the tournament).
    Go to ramp of choice to launch.

    Take off staging area: 7:30 am. Water in front of Mr.Sippis docks (this is a no wake zone)
    Boats will be let out in order of number called. Your number, you can go. 100 boats and we will stagger again this year… announcement will be made once we know #s more.

    Returning to docks for weigh in:
    Boats return to staging area by 3:30pm at the latest and must be seen in the no wake area. Weigh in starts as early as 3pm.
    Remain staged in front of Mr. Sippis
    Do NOT tie up to docks, they are needed for weigh in.
    Form a line downstream of Mr.Sippis. Pull up to the dock when your turn (does not have to be according to boat number).
    Transfer your fish to attendee with your paper plate boat number. Stay at the dock until your fish are returned.

    The Red Wing gauge is at 2.43′ today. Unless we get some water by tourney time, be mindful of the closing dam upstream of Mr Sippi’s.

    I tilt the motor up as far as I can to remain in control, then stay to the WI side. Navionics charts show the best area to go through.

    One week and one day away!!

    Remember your new boat license if you have one this year and 2022 MN fishing license. Old licenses expire 2/28/22.

    Withe the forecast this should be called….
