I walked the entire farm this weekend and managed one shed for my efforts. Still about 8-10″ of snow in the woods so that made for tough walking and shed finding. The dog and I were pretty wore out after about 4 hours. I’ll head back up there in a couple weeks when more snow is gone.

I found out something over the weekend.
The bucks in my area are all bald and have been for a couple weeks now.
A buddy was about 50 miles south of me this weekend and saw a group of 4 bucks with all their headgear still attached.
Seems really weird to me.
I saw a trail cam from April 24th last year with a buck that still had both sides. Same trail cam showed one on April 26th with “new” stubs sticking out about an inch.
Go figure.February 20, 2017 at 2:37 pm #1675423Nice find Sticker!
I walked for about 4 hours Friday. I didn’t find a single shed, but I glassed up two bucks still holding onto both sides across the valley from me. I would say as of a week ago my cameras were still showing at least half the bucks still holding onto both sides. Plenty of antlers left to find, but it’s tough to not be out in the boat instead when its in the 50’s in February!
February 20, 2017 at 5:34 pm #1675480I haven’t done any walking yet but drove by Whitcombs in princeton and all their bucks still had their giant racks.
March 23, 2017 at 9:05 am #1683285I found one at home last night. Got a bunch of pics of this guy this fall with the broken G3. First shed I have found at home in the 20 years I lived there.
I did pull a couple trail cam cards and still had one guy holding both sides as of 3/21/2017
March 27, 2017 at 6:44 am #1684159I ended up finding 2 more sheds at the farm this weekend. Nothing very big. The one in the pic below doesn’t have brow tines, I have a bunch of pics of him last fall. Then one small 1.5 year old fork horn. I just can’t find the sheds of the big guys.
