The cabinless are often (not always) better fishers. Talked to a DNR guy who works with creel clerks, The cabin people go out to the spot or spots that where good in the past and if they don’t do well they are quick to say the whole lake is ‘off’. The resort people or campers will say: ‘well the fish were not in the spots they were last year but we tried different spots and techniques and figured it out.
If I were to buy a cabin I would want it on a large multi species lake.

I recently purchased a park model at Hunters on Mille Lacs, it has everything I need right there. The first season took some time to get used to ( being the new guy and meeting people ) but I enjoyed taking the boat with me daily to the water for 5 mins rather that a 2 hour drive.
