fishing was hot and so was the weather

Four days in a canoe with temps hovering around the 100 degree mark was tough but the fishing action was non-stop.

I was a little disappointed in the size but quantity sure made up for it. 25 fish per day per man was the norm on the smallie action. Got a bonus 19″ ‘eye on a tube. That was a first for me. 1 small muskie and a respectable 26″ pike rounded out the trip. Water was REALLY low.

This was a nice 18″ samllie I caught on the Flowage before the canoeing.

    Sounds like a great time
Now open another water and cool off
4 days in a canoe in those temps could be lethal, but the fishing certainly made up for it

    emover,
one of our guys suffered a bit of heat exhaustion on Saturday. it was 104 degrees. he wasn’t drinking water, just beer. he’s still fighting the effects. dangerous for sure. just glad it didn’t turn into full blown heat stroke.
my rule was 3 beers, pint of water, 3 beers , pint of water.
    I held up pretty well.

I like your plan Steve, but not sure I could hold up.
I agree though, no fishing is worth heat stroke. I’ve only done that once, thank goodness, never been so miserable for 12-18 hours
I know Sat @ Sun I drank more water than I have in a loonnnggg time. Glad to hear everyone was OK
