Reminds me of back in 75-76?? Anyway, our town had it’s fireworks show,it was usually very poor as they would take an hour to light stuff off every couple of minutes or so, boring!!!
That year they had more donations than usual and we were supposed to get the best non-stop show ever!!
We sure did!! The city worker lit the first roman candle and it tipped over about the time it went off launching almost every round into the back of the brand new city truck chock full of fireworks.
What a show!!!! Horns blared and people were hollering for more.
Thankfully no one was hurt.
The city got their second new truck a week later.
People like this are why they invented all those bright warning labels…..:???:
Looks like July 5th in Joey Chestnuts bathroom. How these people are allowed to procreate is beyond me though.
I was at a buddy’s lake lot in WI. The neighbors put on a big firework show and must have lit off 25-30 of the 18” boxes. After it was all done they tossed the boxes into the fire. Well… they didn’t light one of the boxes and it light up the side of their house and everyone on that side of the fire. Lesson learned: old people can move with the right inspiration.
The juice just isn’t worth the squeeze with DIY fireworks. I’ll let someone else fire them off but you won’t ever see me wasting money on those things.

Alot of times it’s a shell or 2 still left in the bottom of cakes that will go off especially if they are 20 plus shots. Then multiple boxes and it causes one hell of a second show.

I have seen that happen many times. I don’t think this was the case this time since these went on for a good 60 seconds hard out of one box. At least no one was hurt. The siding didn’t look very good.
There was a young fella over the weekend who died from a firework exploding in his face, haven’t heard of that before, tragic. Know plenty of people who’ve had severe burns, lost fingers etc.
Love fireworks, kids love fireworks, but I’m a bit of an Ahole when it comes to people setting them off. I’ve had as many sober people do dumb crap as under the influence people. I make sure my immediate family is in safe spaces before folks start firing em, and I let them know beforehand if I think they’re in a bad spot or need something more secure. Feelings don’t matter if you’re balancing a 2″x2″ base with a 10″ tube in tall grass ya DA, let’s pretend we have a brain here.
With that said they usually go without issue and they really are quite amazing. Unreal what we spend on what’s just visual satisfaction.

That poor kid decided to look down the barrel of a mortar to see why it didn’t shoot. Very sad deal.
