We have a brick fireplace that we haven’t used in years. It’s vented, got a chimney, etc. Not wanting to burn wood anymore, does anyone have an idea for an electric insert that looks nice, provides the ambiance of a real fire and maybe a little heat ?

November 11, 2018 at 8:04 am #1809179We have a Dimplex unit that comes in a media center, but I believe you can get the heating unit alone. Looks pretty natural and heats a 20 x 30 room.
November 11, 2018 at 9:28 am #1809192My last winter/spring/summer project was finished out a new family room in the basement. Built a fake chimney for the entertainment center amd put an electric fireplace in. I’d have to dig the paperwork up on who made it, but we did test the heat function of it amd it did a pretty good job of warming up the room (15×22).

Price-wise, not too bad.November 11, 2018 at 4:07 pm #1809258Can’t help with the electric insert. FIL had a gas insert installed in his wood burning fireplace. Worked great and heated so well the furnace barely turned on.
