NMEA

    I am getting a new 115 HP Yamaha 4 stroke and just purchased a Humminbird 998c SI. What do I need to get NMEA data to show up on my new sounder? Looks like I will need the NMEA module, and some places say I will need an ethernet switch for the network. This unit already has a RS232 port. Not planning to set up any other units. Worth it?

    NMEA back bone. Google it and there is alot of info out there. I did my new evinrude to my lowrance. There is a kit you can buy along with the wire and plug that goes to your motor. If I remember rite like 70$ for it all, took a Saturday afternoon and a 6 pack to wire it.
