Elliot vs 2b

Looking to try a new rod for walleyes, mostly spoons. Not completely sold on a 40+ inch rod, does anyone comfortably fish these in an otter xt lodge? Or is it almost exclusively a hole hop rod? Are the Elliot’s worth the extra 40 or so bucks over the 2b?

The 2b savant is a helluva walleye stick. Haven’t fished the Elliot walleye rods but the panfish rods are top tier and the syncork is awesome

I don’t have any walleye setups from either company, but I do use the Inhaler from Elliott Rods for panfish. I love how light it feels in my hand. Sounds cheesy, but this is the first rod that I felt like it chose me. It made my TUCR Bullwhip become a secondary rod.

I have them all. The savant or paragon are great shorter walleye rods, as is the 36” prospector. The 42” med fast revolution is a fantastic stick.

Is the length worth is or minimal gain over the shorter rods? Have you used them inside at all? Is it doable or strictly a hole hopping gig?

I run a pop up, so no issues using mine. If you’re close to a Scheels, I would go try an Elliott in one of their display models. The have Elliot’s for sale, just grab one off the rack. The prospector xl in 36”, or the Wally perca if your walleye don’t get really big, or the nomad if you get larger eyes.

Have any experience with the evolution series? Even longer yet, worst case scenario I have a rod for only hole hopping!! I’m not right next to a scheels but always looking for an excuse to go so I may have to do that

I have all the evolutions except for the 45” med. the 42” is my go to walleye rod on lake Winnipeg.

I have the spoon daddy I believe it’s 34″. Great rod for jigging raps and lippless baits but it also good for 1/8 ounce or bigger spoons. Medium fast action

I’ve had no problem fishing the 42 or 45 in my otter flip over.

I held the Elliot 42” MLF the other day at Scheels, very well balanced and light! I’ve used TUCR and JT the last several years, and if I ever need another rod will definitely check Elliot

I’m leaning towards trying an evolution series, if what I mostly jig is a 3/8 ounce spoon for walleyes, but perch is always down there as well, but a big walleye can be in the river as well, would the 42mf or the 44l be better suited for 3/16 oz spoons?

Edited to change 3/16 oz not 3/8, my bad

My 2B ultimate Nood has done me right. I only use 36″ in both otter shelters. To avoid hitting roof, but that’s just my hook sets and excitement. Another decent priced and quality product I liked was Iron range rods in Elk River.

I also got to use the Fish Usa 25% Off code last Friday on the Evolution. Got the 42″ Medium Fast Carbon. Missed out the last couple years on those rods because they seemed to be always sold out. Are they still made in the USA?

I believe they are made in Bemidji by the original Thorne Brothers, hence Two Brothers…
I have several of them bot 2B and Elliot… my fave is the Odessey…

That’s the one with the split grip handle, right? How has it been treating you this winter?
