    No not through the ice. Down in Mankato at the VA. Drilling 38 inch rounds for the new x ray machine. 12 inch structural concrete. 3/8 inch tolerance.
    Easy money on a Saturday. Now it’s time to prep the boat when I get home.

    That’s the big hilti dd500. Runs off 480 3 phase power. Any bigger then this I have to go hydraulic

    Enough to make the butt pucker while lifting. Luckily these holes were floor holes. Wall holes suck. And they usually are 15 ft or higher above finished floor

    Ron, that thing like most hole saws has a centering bit doesnt it??
    I cant imagine operating that thing without my teeth chattering.

    No centering bit. You start it off in extreme low rpms until the teeth eat in to the concrete a 1/4 – 1/2 inch and then crank up the speed. The hilti motor is a extreme torque machine and can push these bits through so concrete. But as you can imagine, the leveling and set up has to be pretty spot on or you will have major issues at about the 4 inch depth mark
