Anybody have any lodging recommendations on Devils Lake? We’ve never been there before there will be 6-12 guys. Don’t need anything too fancy. We’re looking at going around the first week in June. I assume slip bobbering in the weeds would be the go to presentation that time of year? Thanks in advance.

A couple things to think about. Not many places on the lake have harbors and protected docks. Several aren’t even on the water. And due to wind issues, many people decide to stay OFF the lake and trailer each day to the windward side of the lake.

If staying on the lake is a must, Woodland’s and the Casino are probably the most popular options. Casino does not allow adult beverages on the reservation, fyi.

Given that, any motel, hotel, or resort is fine as most likely, you’ll put the boat on a trailer and drive to the hot spot for the day.

Slip bobber in the trees is always in season!

Woodland and Lakeview offer lodging on the lake, both nice place’s.I would recomend getting your reservations in now, June is a very busy month, as it might be too late to resrve for June.
As far as fishing goes you could try slip bobbering, but myself I would pitch cranks in the shallow bays,3-7 fow, sometimes shallower.Good places to start would be Pelican, Howard farm, golden pond, and many more.#7&9 countdowns,#5&7both style shad raps, esko’s,1/4 oz rattle traps.Good colors firetiger, hot steel, black’n’siver, chrome’n’blue, white.Plastics could still be working, white twisters are about all you need the first couple weeks of open water.
    Good Luck!!
