I recently purchased a 15hp 4stroke Pro Kicker with the intention of linking it to the main motor for steering control at the helm. Unfortunately I was recently informed by the boat dealer after it was bolted to the hull that they discovered the typical Panther type attachment doesn’t work on the newer style Merc tiller pro kickers. The tiller handle has been moved to the center of the motor and is no longer off to the side. The dealer indicated they have spoke to Mercury regarding the situation and they do not have a solution.

You would think that with this motor handle style being out for at least two years Mercury or another vendor would have a solution for this issue. I cant believe I am the only one with this problem. If anyone has a solution I’m all ears!

    Thanks in Advance

What about an ez-steer? (Ties to the backs of the outboards)

Or even a stick steer? (Separate steering system for the kicker)

You can even put autopilot on instead. I have a TR1-Gold and absolutely love it. The best money I’ve ever spent on a boat.

Garmin also has a new model out called the Reactor you could look into as well.
