Big Mac Full In 3 Weeks

    The resource district is reporting that because of all the water in the lakes above Mac right now, a big release is going to be sent down the Platte and Mac could go 100% full in 3 weeks. WOW!!!

    That is truly amazing. I remember 3-4 years ago thinking to myself that Harlan and Mac will never be full again, no way. How could they, with this drought?

    Last I hear the lake was near 80% full. I’ve never seen it completely full, so if it fills up, I’m taking a trip!

    I was just out there late last week and I bet the water came up six inches or more in the two days we were there. There is going to be very little if any beach for the campers 4th of July weekend.

    The fishing was very slow. It was more of a family camping trip than a fishing trip, so i was only on the water about three hours and managed one 16 inch walleye. I was in a group of about 20 boats just west of spring park. In the three hours i was out i only saw 6 other fish caught.
