Hey, do they still net fish at Prescott in the spring? If so anyone know when?

Yes. When the ice is gone. Going to be a bit yet.

It is usually THE day the ice goes out.

They don’t miss it by more than hours typically.

DNR is typically there to sample sturgeon also.

It’s really cool to watch the final draw of the nets and watch them release huge walleye and pike. I highly recommend it.

Watch from the beach on Point Douglas just before you cross over the bridge to Prescott.

Right at the public beach. The problem is timing. No way to know what’s happening without going there.

The market changes. But mostly Chicago and New York.

Like Mike said, timing is everything.

I saw them bringing in the nets a few years back around Noon. Figured I would check it out… they didn’t get the net in to start harvesting until just after 5.

I’ll be taking a folding chair next time I go to watch! LOL!
