Heard on the news last night the Chippewa River is supposed to crest Monday sometime about 1.5 feet above flood stage. I suppose the lower road in Durand will be under water. So this is just a heads up for everyone fishing lower pool four and below. Look for current breaks as I’m sure the fish will be heading for anything that slows the current. Steve
The Chippewa is getting closer to the tops of it’s banks. I went down this evening to try for some eye’s and I couldn’t get to one spot as the road was under water. 
I left that area and headed to another and found water about two feet below the road. I tried behind some tress that are normally out of the water and caught a couple of small smallies about 12″ or so. Thought for sure the walleyes would be hiding behind those trees. I’ll keep at it and post whatever I learn. Steve
