Going to Chetek with the family next week and havent fished this lake at all. Just wondering what works the best. Sounds like drifting slip bobbers? We will be after panfish with the kids mostly. Any advice on baits or general locations to start. Thanks in advance for any info.

pitching small jig heads or floating them under bobbers with crawler chunks or leaf worms has worked well for me in the past. Main lake flats in 8-10 FOW has been good to me.

I fish Balsam Lake quite a bit, which is somewhat near there. 1/32 oz Mini Mite jig pink head/white body has ALWAYS been my go-to panfish jig. Drop it to the bottom with either a crappie minnow or a waxworm…either drag very slow or vertically jigged. Under a bobber they work well too

Fish the bridge pilings for crappies. Small jig or minnow and bobber.
