Cedar River Catfish

Hi All,

Have had a rough spring fishing for just about every species under the sun up here in the Waterloo area. Wondering if anybody could clue me in to any solid channel/flathead catfish spots in the Cedar Falls/Waterloo and surrounding areas.

Haven’t catfished in years, but when I did I always had good luck in that area and below Delhi floating a crawfish under a bobber. I used probably a 1 1/2″ regular bobber, split shot, thinking #4 hook and set it to just bump the bottom while drifting downstream. Cast upstream and let it float down. Water was maybe waist deep. This was midsummer.

Daytime in the brush, nighttime on the sand in about 2 feet of water.
