Cass Lake, Memorial Day Week?

It’s been pretty quiet on this forum for ahwile…just wondering if anybody has been doing anything on Cass chain recently? I will be up there next week and will try to post a report upon return.

Spent the week after opener up there. Ice did not go off Cass till Wednesday 05/15. Things were behind schedule several weeks when we were up there. Fish were still heading up rivers and creeks, while others were done and falling back fast. We caught larger fish than normal in the rivers, two nice fish were caught by another group while we were staying @ Sunset Cove Resort. Heard of a 28″ and 30″ fish caught. I was not able to mark any fish in the lake where we normally find them this time of year. We did spend a fair amount of time fishing Andrusia also.

Heading up there in the morning for the week.

Fishin was good this past week on Cass. Walleyes and perch cooperated very good.

We stayed on Kitchi for the week. Windy everyday out of the Southeast. We did catch a lot of walleyes over Memorial Day weekend but then they kind of shut down. Largest fish of the week was 25 1/2″, 5 lbs. (released). We panfished one day and found a few bull gills and crappies but they have not invaded the shallows for the most part. Water temp was 53 last weekend and 62 yesterday. With the wind, we spent the whole week on Kitchi and only made it into Cass one day. Here are a couple of pics:
