Buddy Heater propane supply question

    Guys,

Bought a new 4.25 lb propane cylinder for use with my buddy heater in the portable this winter in place of the big 20 lber. I had it purged and filled last week and put it to the test yesterday in the deer stand. I noted a sputtering flame throughout the day and it only lasted about 6 hours before I was out of fuel with the heater on the low setting.

I’m thinking the tank was not fully purged and therefore not actually full as I expected to get a weekend out of it.

What are others experiences with these small tank’s?

PS,. Heater fired right up and is nice and quiet on the 20lber this morning as I sit here waiting for it to get light out.

Not properly purged. There was still air and moisture in the tank

I don’t know how propane suppliers don’t know how to properly purge a tank. I had to watch a 3 minute video and knew how to purge tanks properly it’s almost as easy as filling a tank.
