Wanted to give an update on an IDO Member (BuckSlayer) and a great friend and cabin neighbor John Fassbinder. Hopefully you were lucky enough to get to know John. He has been battling pancreatic cancer for the past 4 years. His battle is finally over. I don’t know anyone that could go through what he has. Fortunately, he was able to walk both of his daughters down the aisle this past year. We both bought our cabins next to each other in Cumberland WI back in 1998. We were able to hang out almost every weekend for the past 25 years. Countless fishing trip adventures, Packer games, shaking dice, cribbage, fish fries, fantasy football, archery league, muskie fishing, etc. John was a great fisherman, golfer and was passionate for deer hunting. His service is planned for Tuesday at 9:00 am at St Patricks Church in Hudson, WI. Here are a couple of pics of John doing what he loved. The muskie was caught on our lake after he short armed the net job when I had it hooked. He caught it within an hour of that. -) The buck was taken on an Illinois archery hunt in 2021. The fish fry was an annual event we have for our lake neighbors and friends. Rest easy my friend.
