Have a boat battery sitting in my pole barn. Starting to corrode. Plan on replacing it in the spring, don’t want to do it now and have the new battery sitting all winter in the pole barn.

Any issues with leaving the corroded battery in my pole barn? Don’t want it to blow up or anything..

Might want to unhook it if any leads are attached to it. At least that way nothing else will corrode either.

Make sure it’s fully charged otherwise it could freeze and burst.

Corrosion won’t cause it to blow up.

If connections are clean and tight, and battery is charged. Shouldn’t corrode. They do make a spray too help stop it also. Maybe leave hatch open for air flow.
