Just got back from Lake Michigan. Water is cold near shore and the rivers are running bringing in the big kings. With the reduced stocking program of late,…they are big,…making this fall a good chance to break 30 lbs as we did. Dipseys out 25-35 feet, 2 and 3 color lead core, and down riggers set at 7 and 11 all worked. Epic battles and tangles that go with this type of fishing.

For those not having the heavy trolling gear, the habits are heating up. Tossing spoons, various cranks, and jigging flukes are all producing.

I know it is weather dependent, water temps, but anyone have a timeframe of when that bite starts to pick up? would be a riot to get some kings and lakers on spinning gear.

Now is best opportunity and the possibilities are there to mid-late October.
