    Hello,

I am heading to Atkins Lake in Cable Wi–Chequamegon Nat. Forest at the end of June.

I am going with my family and Atkins Lake seems like a nice little lake with a mix bag of fish.

I will be looking to see if anyone has fished the lake and can tell me anything about the lake. I will be target bass and panfish mainly along with some relaxing on the boat.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Atkins is a beautiful clear water lake. Fished it 45 yrs ago when we caught big rainbows. I believe they are gone. There are both smallies and walleyes in the lake. I have never fished panfish there….Be prepared to fish 15 to 25 ft of water.

Fishing was decent. We got smallie in 8 to 18 feet of water. Most fish came on drop shot with a 4 inch purple worm. The other fish came on popper in the morning. Water was 85.

For a super clear lake I was surprised at the warm water temps. Very pretty area.
