Anybody know anything about this lake? I’m going to be up in the area in a couple weeks and this one grabbed my attention a little. Is it worth fishing for walleyes? Or would Black Duck be a better option?

Not sure about walleye. But in years past I’ve heard of a decent panfish bite. Pass it every time heading to Namakan/Rainy and think I should give it a try one day.

Pike bite is good. I would think the Walleye bite might be decent in the evening.

Ash Lake has walleyes, but it’s a limited population of mostly larger fish.
It’s a great pike, smallmouth, and panfish lake.
If you’re after walleyes exclusively, I’d go to Kab.

Appreciate the replies guys! We may give Ash a shot for half a day. We primarily target walleyes, but pike, smallies and good sized panfish are always fun to catch too.

If we get blanked on the walleyes we’ll probably scoot over to Black Duck for the second half of the day.

Depending on how the first day goes, our second day might be on Whiteface.

    Thanks!
