Ice depths are being reported at 14″-20″ with minimal or no slush, so travel by trucks, ATVs and snowmobiles has not been a problem: however, conditions in back bays and areas with current may always be hazardous, so caution is encouraged.

Walleyes are being caught in the afternoon hours, along with the usual dusk to a few hours after dark. Tip-ups in anywhere between 5′-14′ fow have been producing with small suckers and large shiners. Some real nice Jumbo Perch have also been taken in the same areas, along with “pickling” size pike.

Snowmobile Trail conditions are fantastic and reported to be the best ever. Thank-you to our trail groomers for their volunteer efforts. If you meet one of them, please shake their hand and buy them a beverage.

I talked with guide Jeff Robl last night and he said most areas are good but use caution in “the narrows” where there is a concentrated current such as the area around site R-31.
