Well I have a dealership bringing one in. I have first dibs on it before it’s offered elsewhere. I have it down to this or the zuki king quad 750.

Any one run this grizzly or own both? What one would you buy over the other.

I would go Yamaha over Suzuki any day. Nothing against Suzuki, but Yamaha is kind of reliability.

Group of guys I hunt out west with predominantly all have 700 griz of various years. Of all the machines I’ve driven, no doubt the griz has been the best ride. If I were to upgrade in newer and nicer amenities, I’m buying a grizzly

Now that Yami ditched that crappy 708 and went back to the 686. That 708 was not a great motor.

I already rode and tried out the king quad. Seemed like a very nice machine. I haven’t been on a grizzly in years. But every review I’ve seen is nothing but praise. And I do not like that fact the king quad does not have park. I always use my parking break but I’ve seen them fail many times

Can’t go wrong with a Yamaha or a Honda. Best 2 machines out there. JMO

Both solid machines, Suzuki might be a little cheaper but really cannot go wrong with either one.

    That’s a tough choice.

Do the Grizzleys still have front dif locks?

I’ve only ever owned Grizzly 700’s, there’s a reason why not much has changed on them the past 15 or so years…bulletproof

Tell me about it! I have a 16 with a 708 on its 3rd rebuild ! Fingers crossed that last years rebuild stops the oil burning !

That 708 motor isn’t even a Yamaha from what I heard. Bad thing that Yamaha did was use it for a bit and had issues with it. Yamaha and Suzuki both have front differential locks in them. Suzuki’s is one less step to engage.

Buy it and don’t look back.I have the Grizzly 700 EPS and it was about 500.00 or so cheaper than the KQ 750AXis I was quoted.

All Grizzly models have the diff-lock,and the 708 engine was a joint venture with Subaru.
I originally wanted a Honda Rubicon, but those were very scarce when I looked. So hopefully the Grizz is just as good.

Love mine overall .Disappointed that Yamaha contracted with Subaru and have to deal with the oil burners. Supposedly Subaru bought Robin engines which made those motors.

Might be going with the matte silver grizzly eps se, it will be here 2 months before the xtr. The only difference is color and no winch. Luckily I have a winch in the garage from the Honda still.
Sounds likes the se is 2 weeks out

Disappointing to hear about yamaha engines. Just bought a 16 kodiak from a friend. The machine only have 500 miles on it so hopefully no issues for a while yet

Yikes. You guys have me worried on the 708. My wife has the last year with that engine. It has ran flawlessly since new but I thought it would last forever. Is that still a possibility with this engine?

“The 708 engine lasted for 2016, 2017, and 2018, but in 2019, Yamaha went back to the 686cc engine that had been in the 700 Grizzlies since 2007.”

There was major issues with the 708s that’s why they went back to the 686. Alot of that falls on rider and maintenance, but I do ride very hard and that’s the reason I steered away from those machines and went back to honda. I just got a call the eps se will be here in 2 weeks

I did some googling and checked some forums. It would seem the problems are slightly exagerated online like everything else. Many are seeing these engines last so hopefully I have one of those. Ours burns no oil and runs like new at 1961 miles.

The grizzly will be in water just like the Honda was, and can am. The snorkel will be better fitted. That’s why I buy machines is to use them for fun. I don’t need a 10k machine so I can ride hard pack only. My golf cart will do that. The Honda wasn’t supposed to be in water that day. The snorkel wasn’t on it. Some days it’s hard to ride with the guys I ride with. They find all the greasy stuff

I have a 2018 Kodiak 700, it does have the 708 motor in it. No problems so far, 700 miles, 86hrs so far. yearly maintenance done on it, and just took it in for a more involved maintenance (recommended periodically by Yamaha)

That’s a bad ass looking machine, glad to see them put decent tires on it from the factory instead of the sorry excuse for tires they usually come with!

I’ve always been a Polaris guy but have always liked the look of the Grizzlys. What years had the bad motor that you guys are talking about? Just in case I look at them at some point.
