Funny I just thought about it this morning. My spot is a few weeks out yet. Looking forward to catching a few Red Horse. Hopefully a giant or two.

Been thinking the same but our spots at the moment are so flooded out. Need some dry weather

Anyone been out recently? The late spring and flooding derailed my early sucker plans, and now baseball and softball seasons are ramping up. (

Sorry if it’s a dumb question but what is the best presentation to catch suckers? Chunk of crawler under a bobber or fishing on bottom?

Chunk of crawler or a gob of worms on the bottom. I usually use a slip weight (size based on current) with a 12-18″ leader. Cast it out and let it sit.

Kind of excited to chase them this weekend. We have lots of work to do at the cabin but I can get up early for an hour or so of fishing. If they are hitting that’s all I need.

We’ve been getting a mix of suckers and cats. Find a current break and you’ll get action. Last night was beautiful on the river and my wife got her 1st kitty.
