I saw this the other day, and got a chill! Because I remember that same feeling! Only 30 days until the Fall Thorne Brothers Mod Show!

I just can’t get myself excited about ice yet. I think I’ll need a couple frosty mornings to get me there.

…and that big red line follows your green jig line off the bottom quickly and then the hit. Magic baby!

Ed, I don’t know to agree or disagree. I feel like I’m already for ice……but haven’t sat in the tree stand, shot a grouse, duck hunted, chinooks on the fly rod, post turn over walleyes, set traps, or taken my daughter back to college yet

I’m ready for it I will get more hung up on time for fishing the soft water when I get my first reliable boat… but as for now walking on water to my first spots for the season setting up shop and seeing that first mark come racing in to slam my bait will always get me up early in the morning )

This thread and the last 4 pictures really help allow me to appreciate today. Any weather under 35 degrees sucks.

I still prefer ice over open but last winter took a major part out of me. Not being able to put the boat in except 2 mornings and one evening since ice out probably may be contributing to the whole picture also. But Ed the picture is spot on.

You & Randy are both right, James. There are an awful lot of Fall things that need doing. With the high water & busier than normal summer, I just haven’t been out as often as I should gave been this summer. I just cut wood for the first time a week ago! And of course, there are still about 500 tomatoes to deal with! My wife tried some homemade pizza sauce yesterday that turned out great! It’s almost as good as Pizza Uick Sauce!

I’m still looking forward to the fall walleye bite on my home lake. I think its about a month out from starting yet and will last until ice up

I am starting to get the itch now that it is October. The forecast calls for a chance of snow to mix in with rain Saturday morning here in the Bloomer area which is really getting the itch going, seeing my vexilar in the garage the other day didnt hurt either ;)
