I have a friend looking at a boat. Any help out there would be appreciated!
Going to look at a 18′ 2005 Lund Alaskan with a 95 Johnson on it. Ez Load Galvalume trailer. Counsel steering. Got any input, I’ve never had a Johnson 4 stroke before. He asking 14,000.
Obviously condition has the biggest impact on price, but $14k seems very high for this boat with a 20 year old outboard. In absolutely mint condition, he’s still high IMO, and an Alaskan is about the least likely boat to be in mint condition of any Lund out there.
I believe those early Johnson 4 strokes were made by Suzuki and were reasonable motors for the time.
Alaskans are always in demand and it’s tough to tell without pics and a more detailed description, but $14k seems high. Especially for a fall sale.

TheFamousGrouse +1 on being high and that engine being manufactured by Suzuki. Is it a 95HP or 1995 model year? Big difference.
Final price will depend on electronics/misc. equipment as well…

Just a note on the Johnson. I have a 115 2004 johnson on the cabin boat and we have had zero issue with it and it gets used alot.

I have a 16′ 1998 Lund Alaskan and that boat is tough as nails. Mine is a great boat and I am sure the 18 footer is a nice package.

I’ve never heard of a 95hp Johnson, I’d have him recheck that…
Regardless, still sounds too high. There’s a 2002, 20ft Alaskan, full windshield with a 115hp yammy 4stroke in the WC Classifieds for 11k.

No such animal. They made a 90 and a 100 in 05. Johnson has never made a 95.

I didn’t check the specs, but I don’t think the Alaskan was rated for that high of HP. I think my old Alaskan was only rated for 55hp
Once he gets a look at it, I’ll get this info cleaned up.
It’s a 90 hp.
