Well, I had only one day to take my buddy from northern MN fishing this week. And it was yesterday (Sept. 11th). Where were you guys? heh, heh. Saw one or two other boats, but very quiet. A bit nippy in the morning. Whew.
Fishing was very tough for us. Tried from Everts north and caught several sheephead and one small sauger. Then tried down near can line and that wasn’t any better – other than even more sheephead. Water was up quite a bit (and still muddy) compared to last week. Tried mostly jigging with crawlers and minnows. Oh well. Nice to be out and show my buddy the River. He was a bit disappointed considering he’s used to LOTW, but I just told him we were a bit early. And, well, the “guide” was by no means a pro. So there’s that.
