New Water, Early Ice Walleyes

    Hey All,

    Going to be fishing a brand new lake for Walleyes as soon as we have safe ice. What key things would you be looking for to try to locate the walleyes? I am new to targeting Walleyes in the winter and I have the Navionics app and am thinking drop offs but any advice would be very helpful!

    I would look to the biggest shoreline flats, adjacent to deeper water. Find weed growth or larger rubble in 7-10ft and set up for the evening bite. During the day hit the break lines and any points/humps extending off the flat
