Two years of planning thinking the day would never come, And now its all over.
Got Home from what was a hunt of a lifetime. I dont have a lotof time to tell the stories right now , but lets just say it was way better than expected. Heck we were just thinking if one of us got a bull over 50″ we would be doing good…

Here are a few pics of our moose, Mine went 61″ and Justin’s came in at 74″
    Enjoy

Way cool, neat to have a fishing option with it too. Look at the colors on those salmon!

Wowser. You gotta come back and tell the story. A definite bucket list item for me.

Was this a DIY drop camp or a fully guided hunt? I have always wanted to do a moose hunt, preferably archery.

4 – don’t overlook Colorado. Hard to draw a tag but relatively “cheap” once you do. I’m starting to collect preference points now.

This was a DIY drop hunt.. let me tell 2 miles packing a moose up a mountain is hard work! got a little excited the first day and dropped the hammer on mine,, 8 trips of 100+ pound packs each up hill not easy! hardest thing ive ever done but was worth every step!

Did you stumble on to any brown bears?

only one brown bear that we seen and that was over a mile from camp.. seen some black bears.. and lots of moose.. we seen big moose everyday..

I would love to tell the story here but im afraid my fingers just wont take it..

if your looking into a hunt like this I could recomend Renfros Alaskan Adventures.. they are a bit more mony than some but the owner dose all the moose counts for the alaskan fish and game.. He knows where they live.. and He knows where he can land to get you on them.. He talked me out of a float hunt when I called him.. said to me do you want a good moose hunt with good fishing or Do you want a hunt you absolutly will get your moose.. If you want a sure thing Ill put ya on a drop camp..

Ill definatly be using him again in the future.. Just got to start saving up again!!

Been accumulating preference points for Wyoming and Utah, but like you said not easy to draw a nonresident tag. Probably should have added Colorado, but the age thing is starting to work against me know!

The wolves have decimated the moose populations so badly in Utah it’s probably just getting tougher. Not sure on Wyoming but I imagine it’s not much different. Good luck in your draw. Father time waits for no one!!
