When looking at a map of a lake, what are you looking for when trying to target Crappies during early ice? I know late season is normally deeper basins with soft bottoms but how about early ice?

Shallow green weeds will hold a mixed bag of Crappies and Sunfish, so that is where I start. Then I would start looking for weed points that transition to deeper water.
