My Dad was medically cleared to utilize a crossbow for archery hunting in the future. So, now the shopping is beginning. I know nothing about crossbows. What should we focus on? What are the important factors to consider?

    Any help is appreciated.

Hand crank for cocking is a must for him, I just got a ten point vapor with scope and bolts for about $1600. 5 shots and it is dead on at 50 yards. Unlike some compounds, with crossbows you pay more and get more features and quality. When I bought my used Reezen 3 years ago it was hard to see why some bows were $400 more. Happy shopping!

I would also recommend the Ten Point. Very nice crossbow for sure an with the crank it makes it easy to cock the crossbow. You get what ya pay for an one hell of a crossbow no doubt.
